This isn't a true review, because I haven't skied in these pants yet, but I wanted to send out a report on fit and features for any Divas interested. I know it can totally suck shopping online when you have no clue what size to get, how they're going to fit, etc. I asked for these for Christmas from my sister, but told her to keep the receipt just in case! They were ordered from Moosejaw, but they're available at various prices around the internet (sizes and colors available vary).

Facts:
686 Mannual Rodeo Women's Pants
Color: Red
Size: S

Me: 5'4", ~140 (give or take, give a few for the holidays ) and usually wear around a US size 6.

I wasn't sure how these would fit, because in the past I've found boarding pants to be rather baggy and unflattering with gigantic legs. These are definitely a wide leg fit, but are still flattering because the fit in the seat is more snug. The smalls actually fit perfectly. I also have some Columbia pants in small, and they fit smaller than those, but not so tight that movement is hindered, and things always fit looser with compression tights underneath anyway. The length is good for me, but on the longer side, so if you're shorter they might be too long, but if you're a bit taller they shouldn't be too short. The color is a fantastic bright red which was the appeal to me, but they also come in various other colors. Since they're snowboard pants, they come with removable pads in the knees and butt. I removed the ones in the knees, but I'm going to try them with the butt pads in since I always get cold on the lifts. They have thigh vents and plenty of pockets, but nothing that looks or feels cumbersome. The material and finishes all seem to be high quality. I think these should be a great pick if you're looking for something in a fun color (But they come in black and white too.)

I'll report back once I've hit the slopes in these (hopefully on Friday!:ski2:)

Update:

I got to wear these pants today finally. The bum pads definitely helped keep me warmer . They were totally comfortable all day and I don't think anyone would miss me in the bright red color.
