5 Fingers Bowl - anyone ever go?

I know this is a shot in the dark, but if anyone has taken that trip...do tell!

Last Saturday I hiked up Highlands Bowl. Off of the summit, off the back is the backcountry access gate which leads to LOTS of awesome terrain. Tonar Bowl, 5 Fingers... On Sunday, I turned down the opportunity to ski 5 Fingers because I had a friend visiting. My friend went & said it was spectacular. It's about another 45 minute hike from the summit of Highlands Bowl across the ridgeline. She said some areas got a bit sketchy (and she was in snowboard boots) - and she had to crawl backwards on her hands & feet. Of course we would only go with our friend who has his Avy certifications & knows what he's doing. He wants to go again next weekend.

This is something I really want to check off my list. Near the top of the "to do" list for sure. There's only 1 weekend left for Highlands to be open, then you'd have to hike/snowmobile up the main part of Highlands too ( ). So it's do-or-die next weekend and I think I'm gonna go for it - but the area is really dangerous and I'm more than a little nervous.

Just curious if any divas (or anyone you know) has taken this trip?

I'm going to wait & see what the weather is planning to do on Saturday. But for now, Saturday is our plan! I also got some more details on the hike...the "very sketchy" area was only hard for my friend because she was too short.

Apparently there's a spot where you have to turn around and crawl down the boot-packed steps...almost like a snow-ladder. She had to slide down to the next step because she was too short & that kinda freaked her out.

I'll take lots of pics and do a full TR if/after I go.
