2020 passes and COVID

I expect the response to passholders regarding this year's aborted season will affect people's willingness to commit to a pass for 20-21. If they decide it's "tough luck, you lose" this season, people may not renew until later, if at all.

I have never bought pass protection. I'm willing to take my chances on me. I never considered needing it for closures of the resorts. But that's how Copper is presenting the situation today -- if you purchased pass protection for a Copper season pass or 4-pack, you can apply for some sort of refund.

I expected to buy an Ikon pass for next season, but I'm not so sure now. I'm going to do more road trips for skiing next season anyway, so maybe one of the other multi-passes would serve me just as well and at lower risk.

I intend to buy my Ikon pass before the April 23rd deadline. The resorts lost a boatload of money this season. If we want them to be fiscally healthy and able to open next season, we’d better ante up. My local resort is on the Ikon. I’ll support it.
