We've reached another milestone, ladies! We just welcomed our 200th registered Diva.
Celebrate! Toss the confetti! Take a run down your favorite mountain and holler, "I'm a Diva and I'm proud to be one!" (You can even add a "Whooo-Hooo!" if you like.)
This means there are at LEAST 200 women in the world with a passion for skiiing, and who want a place in the cyber-universe they can call their own.
Can't say I'm surprised. Even though we've only been around since September, TheSkiDiva.com is turning into THE place for women who love to ski. The comeraderie, knowledge, and support I've seen here is truly amazing. If someone told me a year ago I'd have skiing buddies all over the country -- no, all over the world -- I don't know if I'd have believed them.
But there it is. And here we are: a genuine community of women who enjoy one another's company, who share jokes, sorrows, gear info, tips on technique, travel, and things that drive them nuts. More importantly, it's a community made up of strangers who have come to consider one another friends.
I've been fortunate to meet and ski with a few of you, and I must say it's been a terrific experience. I'm hoping that over time, more and more Divas will have the chance to get together, too. It's a blast to meet someone for the first time and feel like you already know one another. Besides, it's fun to say, "Yes, I'm Ski Diva. And you're Quiver Queen? (or Liquidfeet, or SnowHot -- you get the picture)." I mean, how often does that happen?
So tell your friends, your family, your neighbors. Spread the Diva word. The more the merrier.
Congrats, ladies. Happy 200th. You're the best.
(BTW, our 200th member is aggiemary04. Welcome!)
