GROWL. I almost want to do it. I think they are too long.

Oragejuice, Those would be perfect for you.
170is not too long in that type of ski for you.

Are you a member on TGR? If not, maybe another diva could facilitate the transaction for you.

I have the '08 Aura163 and they are only slightly longer than my other Volkls which are a 156, so at least in the '08 season the Auras ran short. You might want the seller to measure the length for you before you make a final decision. I'm 5'7", 145 lbs., intermediate (aspiring to advanced) skier.

Everyone keeps telling me this, but I skiied them in a 156, and going up to a 163 makes me nervous. That's the length I'm planning on getting, father seems to think it's the right one. (He skis with me more than anyone.) My biggest concern is that I won't be able to turn the way I am used to. I had a pair of Volkl Tierras last year, and was constantly tripping over the heads of the skis. Granted, the mounting point was way too far back for my taste, but they were a 156.

I used to own the previous year's version of the Tierras and I found them much harder to ski on than the Auras. I started with them in a 163 and downsized to a 156 and still felt like they skied me more than I skied them.

That said, if your gut says to stick with the 163 Aura, then don't go longer. The only downside is that you won't have as much float in pow at the shorter length, but I do find that the 163 Auras give me a lot of maneuverability for short radius turns when you consider what wide planks they are and what the stated turning radius is. There's Diva from Idaho who's my size and also skis the 163 Auras because she skis trees a lot. Longer is not necessarily better (at least when it comes to skis) and is really a matter of personal taste. No pun intended:becky:.

That's exactly how I felt about the Tierra (AC3 for you, yeah?) I'm a strong skiier, 5'5" athletic 175 lbs. I had the Tierras in the shop a couple different times, trying different mountings, messing around with my boots, trying to get it all right. Nope. Never happened. I almost bought Auras last year, just didn't want the all white topsheets.

Thanks for the length info, I'm not worried about the float, they will be longer and way fatter than what I've been skiing, and anything will help. I've skiied knee deep freshies on 150cm Salomon Verse, 73 waist... blegh! I do ski alot of trees too, shorter skis=better.

:( That's a pity. :( I don't think I found them anywhere else that actually said they were in stock.
