'09 Women's Ski Camp Dates

Aspen's Women's Extreme Edge Camp with DiDi Lawrence for O8/09 will be January 19th to 22nd and the cost will be $599.00 for the 4 days of group lessons. Their website (www.aspensnowmass.com) will be updated later this summer. This is the camp I attended this year, had an absolutely incredible experience, and am seriously considering doing it again.

Anybody else know of camp dates so far?

Ooooh, I am definitely thinking of doing that this year -- I remember reading about it last year and thinking it sounded incredible. Does the $599 include food or lodging or anything, or just lift ticket + lessons? Also - when you did it last year were most of the women there with friends, or were there people there alone?

Rachel, I think QQ will be better at answering the questions but I did look into it, and from what I see, the price includes the camp only, Lift tickets, meals and lodging are separate.
That may be different this year, but I'm not sure.

The Aspen fee covers instruction, one lunch, and one apres' ski. This year I was lucky and got a big break on lifts tickets thru Epic (their Academy was the same week) and would go that route again if it's available. Lodging in the Aspen area is expensive, but booking early will find you a nice place at a reasonable rate, and it seems most places include breakfast; the lodge where I stayed (and would stay again) also had an apres' ski spread including chips, salsa, cheese, crackers, fruit, chili, wine, soft drinks, etc., so I ended up eating dinner out only twice the whole week I was there. That trip was also the first time I'd ever traveled anywhere without renting a car--the mass transit system is so good, and parking is so dear, that a car is a hindrance rather than a help. I love planning, so if you need any particular information, just ask!

Unfortunately, the purchase of extra lift tickets for the ESA Events was becoming a huge undertaking, therefore, in the future, they will only be offered to paid ESA registrants.

I know that day would come. I can sense it from both Stowe and Aspen ESA. Even as a ESA participant, getting extra ticket always felt like an afterthought. And I can only imagine the hassle it creates. Though I've never thought there're many non-participants needing extra tickets...

It's going to be an extra hurdle for those with family to attend ESA if they can't get discount tickets for their non-ESA participating spouse or children.

Thanks for understanding, abc.
The policy is that Paid ESA Registrants can purchase extra tickets in advance, non refundable for family that is accompanying them, however it will not be extended beyond that.
I feel that is completely fair and will be much easier to handle.

The Epic lift ticked deal sure was nice while it lasted!
