Ski boot flex too much? Considerations when skiing in lower volume and higher flex?

I'm a size 22.5 in ski boots and have struggled for years to get a good fitting boot. Besides the small size I have a taller instep, bony feet and narrow heels. One boot fitter described my feet as "Swiss Cheese feet" due to all the spaces. One thing to be aware of is that not all size 22.5...

    Favorite body lotion with sunscreen?

Bondi Sands SPF 50. Fragrance free. Great for daily moisturizer. Wear it every day. Couldn't find in stores in my area (Denver Suburb) so had to order from Amazon. Use Paula's Choice sunscreens for face. Also Fragrance Free.

Altitude issues after not having any for years! Is Diamox the answer?

Here's some information from Dr. Stacey T Sims. While it's geared toward coming from low altitude and training it heat there might be some clues in the article for you. https://www.drstacysims.com/blog/Optimizing%20Female%20Performance%20at%20Altitude

Altitude issues after not having any for years! Is Diamox the answer?

So what has changed since you moved to Denver? Do you stay in the same place when you come to Summit? I have a condo on Buffalo Mountain and live in Lakewood. I work out regularly with a personal trainer. At the beginning of the season I was struggling to breathe. For several weeks, every time...

    Ankle brace or compression sleeve

Just a thought. Do you have high arches? If so, do you have orthotics in your boots, shoes? I ask because I was seeing a PT for Peroneal Tendonitis. I mentioned that my shoes hurt my ankle and couldn't figure out why. She looked at my foot, measured the height of my arch and how much it moved...

Mid-Atlantic/Southeast skiing (PA, NJ, DC, MD, VA, WV, NC, TN) for 2022-23

Perfect North is doing the same. The tubing hill is closed.

is there a doctor in the house??

Sorry, I meant to say I drink lots of water. I add 1 teaspoon of maple syrup +1/16 teaspoon of salt to 16 oz of water. I aim to drink 11 oz per hour. I live in Colorado and am chronically dehydrated. This solution helps to keep my sinuses from drying out. Technically, one shouldn't run an air...

Mid-Atlantic/Southeast skiing (PA, NJ, DC, MD, VA, WV, NC, TN) for 2022-23

We knew Clyde and Chip back then. They were farmers who got the idea of a ski area. I basically learned to ski there. There was a J lift that took you to the top of this little hill where the Audition Terrain Park is now. Clyde wouldn't go to the top of the property because he thought it was a...

Mid-Atlantic/Southeast skiing (PA, NJ, DC, MD, VA, WV, NC, TN) for 2022-23

I skied at PNS from their opening season until 2004 when I retired and moved to Colorado. I trust that they know what they are doing.

ISO new boots; Dalbello Lupo AX 100

Over the past few years Technica has changed the fit of their boots to better accomodate a woman's foot. I I have the same boot as yours but I bought the 2019 version. It is a 22.5 LV. This is the 1st LV boot that I've been able to wear due to my high instep. and wider forefoot. I love this...

Mid-Atlantic/Southeast skiing (PA, NJ, DC, MD, VA, WV, NC, TN) for 2022-23

Not sure about conditions at Timberline but keep in mind that the Perfect family has managed to survive in Indiana when winters like you're having weren't that unusual. In the early 80's they opened Perfect North Slopes in Indiana, near Cincinnati. Everyone was skeptical they would make it with...

is there a doctor in the house??

I assumed she was using a saline rinse. I use NeilMed Sinus packets. Warm the distilled water before I add the Saline packets. I seem to do better with an air purifier in my bedroom and lots of water. I aim for 11oz per hour with a little maple syrup and salt added.

is there a doctor in the house??

I use distilled water in my sinus rinse bottle. I warm the bottle and water for 20 sec. in the microwave.

Can someone educate me about I-70 in Colorado.

Another thought. If you stay in Dillon your best route to Breck is Dillon Dam road or Swan Mountain Road at Summit Cove. If the weather is bad the Dam road is most likely closed but it's rare for Swan Mountain Road to be closed because it's a school bus route.

Can someone educate me about I-70 in Colorado.

I'm not saying Eagle/Vail won't work but airfare, lodging and rental cars are most likely more expensive. If you don't want to ski Vail, Beaver Creek is your only option. To get to Breck/Keystone, or stay in Summit Cty, you'd have to drive over Vail Pass which is a longer, steeper drive than...

Can someone educate me about I-70 in Colorado.

If Eisenhower Tunnel is closed do not try to get to Loveland. You will be sitting in traffic for hours. We have sat in traffic going down the hill into Silverthorne/Dillon when I-70 to the tunnel is closed. The advantage we have is there is a back way by the outlet malls into Silverthorne so we...

Can someone educate me about I-70 in Colorado.

I just looked at COTRIP.org. There is video showing road conditions and where the snowplows are. There were 2 snowplows coming down holding up traffic.

Can someone educate me about I-70 in Colorado.

Good plan to watch the weather. Wind has been howling here all afternoon. Traction laws have been out all day. I can see sections of I-70 from my condo and it doesn't look like the lights coming down the pass are moving very fast. I can't see any taillights so I'm thinking east bound is closed...
