OH yeah!

@SallyCat - My crocuses and grape hyacinths all came up in October. Poor things, I don't know whether to blame the weather or the president. They are all confused.

Killington announced November 8!

Whoa, that's tomorrow!

Looks like it's GAME ON for New England resorts. That is a serious snowmakin' stretch of night-time temps!

EDIT: Not so much here in PA, where my Day lilies are inexplicably blooming. BUT, night-time temps are looking surprisingly good from next week onward. I'm curious to see if Blue tries for a November opening. I doubt it, but it's at least plausible.

Oh, wow! Luckily, none of our spring flowers have made a reappearance that I've noted... we have some hyacinths and tulips.

I at least get to go get my Montage season pass next weekend. Something to look forward too, even if it's not skiing!

Pass holders only I think I heard.

I expect you're right. I got an email, and they traditionally hold an event for passholders.

From the look of the webcam, skiing on Superstar will likely require rock skis on the not-quite-White ROD

It snowed a bit at Blue this afternoon. Then everyone piled on Facebook and said "WHEN ARE YOU OPENING!!!???" And they said "WE DON'T KNOW!" Then the haters showed up and start bashing Blue because it's crowded, icy, etc. Every. Time. I would get more work done if this sort of thing weren't so entertaining!

I wonder if they'd let the public ski on Superstar, since they're preparing it for the WC. It has to be homolo-something-something; whatever that thing is that turns a race course into a regulation sheet of ice.
Usually they open the North Ridge Triple (and maybe the Canyon Quad?) and you have to take the Gondi up and down b/c they don't have top-to-bottom trails open early-season.

I'll be up over Thanksgiving and plan to ski Okemo at least one day and then maybe Stratton. I don't want to burn too many Max Pass days on early conditions.

You are quite right. Season passholders only, and skiing on Rime or Reason only.

Woohoo! I'll be around on the weekend. Be in touch!

Well, I can't believe I'm typing this but... Big Boulder to start blowing snow tonight and hoping to open Big Boulder Park Saturday. Is this Pennsylvania?!

I didn't believe your but I looked on Open Snow and they are forecast for good snowmaking temps. I think I'm stunned.

I'm kinda in shock, tbh. lol. Earliest opening I've seen around here in my 9 yrs of skiing was around Thanksgiving??? Some years it's been as late as around New Years.

I'm still scarred by the Jan 7th 2016 openings!

They barely got open at Blue in time for our race clinic that starts at the beginning of January.

I am now, I was in DC but just moved to Philly and loving it (especially since I finally got a bed yesterday!)

Given this is bit unprecedented (for me at least) ... I'm tempted to go to Boulder and play human slalom in the Park Saturday. Maybe we can get some divas in? @vanhoskier @SallyCat @Olesya Chornoguz ??? Normally, I wouldn't bother with just the park but it's so early... I kinda want to for the novelty factor! You too of course, if you're interested

ETA: It's their Boulder Gives Back opening day thing... so bringing a set food donation for a food pantry gets you in.
