Days you’ve been on snow 2023-2024

Today was Day #80 for the season! A couple weeks ago, I had doubts I would make it this far, but a Miracle March snow storm — many ski areas in Vermont reported more than 2 feet — turned things around. I’m hoping to hit 90, but we’ll see.

Tips for advanced skiers over 50 planning to ski until 80+

Have any of you read this? It's from SeniorSkiing.com: My Ego As A Senior Skier Marc Liebman The aging process does weird things to the mind. We remember days of yesteryear winding down through moguls on a steep run all day, thinking it was fun. Or floating through knee-deep powder all day from...

I have to say, I love the single-chair photo bomb. When I saw Rachel was taking a selfie, I figured I’d go for it. Really, as someone who lives in Vermont, this has been one of the best snow weeks in memory. Conditions were so bad coming into this that I was actually having nightmares about...

Some of us tried to ski Bolton today, but with a serious wind hold on the lifts, a few of us decided to go to Mad River Glen. And yes, we rode the famous single chair. An amazing day with terrific conditions (and no wind holds). Many thanks to @ilovepugs for guiding us around. Here are a few...

LOVED skiing the Beaver Pond Glades today. The snow is incredible! More like Big Sky, Montana, than Vermont.

The most amazing, funny thing happened this evening. We’re all sitting at a table in a restaurant, laughing and carrying on, and a man walks over and says, “Are you the Ski Divas?” Turns out someone told him to be on the lookout for a group of “boisterous women.” Shout out to @Peppermint ! Wish...

For all you doubters about Eastern conditions, we’ve probably had ten inches of snow since we’ve arrived. Here’s my car this morning. Can’t wait to get out there!

What an amazing day! Driving up in the car, I seriously had doubts about how good it was going to be. But the snow appeared when we got close to Jay, and it snowed all night and all day today. Yes, it was windy and the tram wasn’t running. But we had a great day, nonetheless. Here are some...

Pass details and pricing 24/ 25- Ikon, Indy, Epic, MCP etc

If you're interested in the Indy Pass, here's a heads up: Sales end Monday, March 18. The pass is going off sale 20 days earlier than it did last season. And there's no guarantee it'll go on sale again in the fall. So if you want the pass, better act now.

    Do I need an intervention?

I'm the same way, and likewise glad to hear I'm not alone. During ski season, everything revolves around skiing. Hey, the season's short; I have to make the most of it.

Days you’ve been on snow 2023-2024

Yesterday was Day 70 for me. I usually get in about 90 days, but even with the recent snow we've had in Vermont, I'm not convinced conditions will hold up enough for me to get there. I'm working on it, though.

Avalanche expert killed in backcountry avalanche

I read an article today in the NY Times about the death in an avalanche of Nick Burkes, who was an avalanche forecaster for the Wallowa Avalanche Center and a former snow safety supervisor at the Mt. Hood Ski Patrol. (If you can get beyond the paywall, the story is here.) Very sad, but it goes...
