After learning about the Micro Pack from this contest, I checked it out in detail in person at the Boston Ski Expo. What sold me was the easy way a helmet could be attached for walking around in the lodge during lunch. The quick disconnect clip for the shoulder strap is a unique feature that was the other key factor. Got a bit of a discount buying from Ski Country.
