Wow. I was super busy and missed all this! @SallyCat -- no offense here at all, I did get the joke 
And, in a sense, I understand that some of these skis are very comparable, so at some point this becomes a fairly random choice (especially without extensive demoing).
DH looked at some more reviews and got Atomic Vantage 90 CTi -- the choice partly based on discount actually (he paid $419 while Enforcer 93, for example, was impossible to find for less than $650). It should be a very appropriate ski though, based on everything said here.
