She went from a Jr. Ski (the K2 Missy) to the Kenja. She stayed on the Jr ski until age 18! I could not convince her needed a less flimsy ski. Finally I got her to demo and she fell in love with the Kenjas. Then it took another couple of years before she agreed to get out of her old jr "race" boots that I got her when she was 14. She finally got new boots last season, and agrees that skiing' much easier now. Can you imagine skiing the Kenjas with kid's boots?
I skied on the Volkl Kenja 149's for about 3-4 years... always had issues in untracked snow at Granite Chief at Squaw.... blamed myself (well could be) but those skis were a lot to muster around. Other skis are much easier. Prior to Kenjas I had the k2 Lotta Luv. Another heavy ski.
Now I'm old. I want skis to be easier....

@tinymoose You owned the older Kenja, right? Have you demoed the newer one? It is super-light, less damp, and a lot friendlier to a broader range of skiers IMO.

Definitely demo a Joy ski if you can. I loved the Absolute Joy at 152 and I thought they'd feel a bit short, but not at all. Bet you'd like any of the Joy skis in the shorter 140-something length.

I haven't. Only b/c at 95 lbs. there is no way I can bend it.

You might like the Absolute Joy even better @tinymoose. A completely different ski than anything I've ever tried before. Made skiing feel almost effortless.

Thought it would be flippity-flappity because it was so lightweight, but it was just the opposite.

I might be in the running for least changed quiver since joining in 2010...all I've done is add a dedicated touring ski.

2008 (?) Elan Free Spice, 88 waist, 168cm
2010 Atomic Century, 100 waist, 156cm (this was my touring ski & powder ski until halfway through this season, now it's just for powder)
2016 Nordica Santa Ana, 100 waist, 161cm, touring

The Black Crows were great no matter the conditions. ....I guess you could say a bit easier to maneuver and lighter. ...... Sambas from 2014 have metal and are a bit heavy. I have taken them all over Northstar in all conditions so definitely an all mountain ski....

This. The Sambas are trust worthy in everything. But the Camox Birdie is just a tad more playful and maneuverable and feel lighter. Ski more from the center, yet totally drivable. My new toy. My goldilocks size for me. Spent 4 hours on sunday on my new pair, can't wait to get to know them better. Oh and btw also lapping it w/ 2 patrol (one male / one female on the mens version of the Camox). Maybe not the best on ice unless you tune them that way but a really fun ski

Nothing New:
Rock Skis 2003 Atomic C-9 160 cm
Slalom: 2008 Atomic Foxy Mama 150 cm (124/74/108)
Giant Slalom: 2010 Atomic Varioflex 157 cm (122/75/109)
All Mountain: 2009 K2 Burnin Luv 156 cm (117/70/101)
Vermont Only-All Mountain: 2013 K2 Super Burnin 160 cm (121/72/106)

Hmmm: Looking at the model years, maybe I need to start shopping!
Anyone knowledgeable who's done demos recently: What might be a more modern version of my Burning Luv/Super Burnin?

The Varioflex give me great results racing but are super heavy.
Volkls are too stiff for me. K2s have been best for me in recent years.
I'm trying to narrow down what I need to demo for new skis since I rarely get free demos and am quite reluctant to pay the rates usually charged where I can try the skis I'd be interested in.
Any Diva help would be greatly appreciated...

I managed to get all six of my alpine-mounted skis in one place at the same time! The only pair missing are my AT skis.

These are in order of waist width. I still haven't been on the Fat-ypuses at all, and haven't been on the La Ninas this season.
